Complement raises €660,000 to deploy its AI virtual trainer and support the transformation of training practices
Paris, March 5, 2026 – At a time when organizations and institutions are rethinking their knowledge transfer methods in the face of the rise of artificial intelligence, Complement announces a €660,000 fundraising round from business angels and a strategic investor, IÉSEG School of Management. This round is supplemented by non-dilutive financing, bringing the total resources mobilized to over €1 million.
Founded in 2024 by Gabriel du Chalard de Taveau (also an IÉSEG 2017 graduate), Coline Thérial, and Tristan de Bermingham, Complement is developing a new type of training platform based on video calls with interactive AI avatars. Its promise: to offer, at scale, an experience equivalent to that of a private tutor, capable of explaining, engaging in dialogue, assessing, and adapting in real-time to each learner's level.
A tangible impact for learners and organizations
Unlike e-learning platforms and traditional passive pedagogical content, Complement allows designers to transform existing materials (PDFs, presentations, expert content) into interactive oral training sessions, led by an AI virtual trainer. Learners can freely ask questions, delve into complex concepts, be actively assessed, and receive personalized feedback at any time, just as if they were face-to-face with a human subject-matter expert.
For trainers and instructional designers, the platform offers significant time savings and access to unique data: misunderstood concepts, recurring questions, and friction points. These insights allow for content optimization, improved training efficiency, and the refocusing of human intervention on high-value-added moments.
The platform is designed for both companies—in contexts of internal training, onboarding, or skills development—and higher education institutions looking to modernize their pedagogical frameworks.

A strategic partnership marking a clear pedagogical shift
IÉSEG's investment in Complement represents a strategic turning point for both the start-up and the School.
Following a collaboration initiated during the product's early stages, this partnership reflects IÉSEG's desire to evolve its pedagogical approaches and fully embrace the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence, with hybrid formats mixing in-person, flipped classrooms, and personalized AI coaching. The School will provide 5,000 students with unlimited access to Complement.
The School will also serve as a pedagogical innovation laboratory, mobilizing teachers, experts, and learners to fuel the continuous improvement of the platform.
« IÉSEG's investment in Complement aligns perfectly with our desire to integrate artificial intelligence in the service of learning and pedagogical transformation. Our AI strategy, designed to enhance the quality of the student experience, joins the ambition carried by our "Becoming" educational approach: to support each learner in their academic and personal development by focusing on hybrid, bespoke formats and human-centric pedagogy. With Complement, we are opening a new path toward more interactive, individualized training committed to innovation, while placing the educational relationship—human and digital—at the heart of our mission. »— Caroline Roussel, Dean of IÉSEG School of Management
Technological and commercial acceleration
Thanks to this fundraising, Complement will strengthen its technical and commercial teams, continue the development of its proprietary AI technology, launch a mobile version designed for daily use, and industrialize B2B deployments.
The vision remains the same: to develop a virtual trainer that can match a human, and to allow any industry expert or teacher to simply and quickly create online training.
The company now has about ten active clients and continues a sustained growth trajectory. Complement is a recent laureate of the Microsoft GenAI and Wilco programs, and is supported by Réseau Entreprendre.
« This round marks a turning point: it shows that organizations are ready to evolve their pedagogical models to leverage AI. With Complement, we are moving from static content to a real pedagogical dialogue, adapted to the needs of each individual. And the result is a format that is truly appreciated by learners. »— Gabriel du Chalard de Taveau, CEO and co-founder of Complement
